The Egyptian club Zamalek announced today, Friday, the appointment of John Edward as the club’s sports director, as part of a comprehensive plan to restructure the football sector, in a move aimed at enhancing administrative and technical performance within the ancient club and meeting the aspirations of its fans.
Recommendations for the Planning Committee
Zamalek, in an official statement published through its platforms on social media, said that the Board of Directors reviewed the final plan and recommendations submitted by the Planning and Development Committee,
John Edward decided to appoint a sports director, while giving all the powers to manage the football sector and deal with various files.
Extensive powers and development strategy
Under this decision, John Edward will be directly responsible for everything related to the football sector, including the first team, contracts, internal organization, and technical and administrative coordination.
The statement also indicated that this step comes within the framework of a comprehensive vision to develop sports performance within the club and establish a modern professional model.
Control the sports media system inside the club
The statement stressed that any official news related to the football sector, including the first team, will be issued only by the sports director or the club’s spokesperson, stressing that the board of directors will not allow the promotion of “lies” aimed at provoking the division between the masses or destabilizing the entity.

The Board of Directors sent a direct message to the loyal Zamalek fans, stressing that it is well aware of the size of its support and its sincere affiliation, and listens to its pulse, and will spare no effort to continue the club in achieving championships and standing on the podiums.
