This came in a speech today (Friday) during a public parliamentary discussion under the title (Parliamentarians in a dialogue with religion and belief: enhancing confidence and embrace hope for our common future), within the second parliamentary conference on the dialogue of religions organized by the Italian parliament and the International Parliamentary Union, and with the support of the Day of Religions for Peace, in the Italian capital (Rome).
He pointed out that the Kingdom of Bahrain adopted leading initiatives, through the announcement of the Kingdom of Bahrain for tolerance and coexistence, or the initiatives that support it supporting dialogue and strengthening understanding between religions, such as the Bahrain Forum, which three years ago gathered global religious leaders, in historical meetings that translated the importance of religions to enhance world peace and consolidate the principle of human brother A strong legislative legislative that sponsors the environment of peace and coexistence, as well as continuous governmental programs sponsored by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him.
He pointed out – during the speech – that there is a real need for the exchange of successful experiences in the field of coexistence and dialogue, in order to achieve the desired intertwining in the application of high human values, noting that talking about the Kingdom of Bahrain stops us in front of a pioneering model in promoting religious pluralism and coexistence, as it succeeded in embracing various religions and sects within an environment based on respect and openness, thanks to the wise vision of the great king, may God protect him and his pastors, The culture of tolerance and pluralism has established decades ago, which made it a land in which its sons and residents coexist in harmony, away from discrimination or exclusion.
He stressed the importance of dialogue between parliamentarians as an indispensable necessity to confront contemporary challenges, stressing the importance of taking responsibility for unifying efforts to address hate and extremism, and to enhance legislation that guarantees freedom of belief, and protects societies from practices that target humanity, noting that parliamentary forums are not just a framework for multilateral cooperation between legislative institutions, but rather platforms for global dialogue, and bridges It continues to contribute to building confidence and establishing the values of coexistence between peoples.
He called for a return to the announcement of Manama issued by the 146th General Assembly of the International Parliamentary Union held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the announcement of Marrakech issued by the Parliamentary Conference on Dialogue between Religions in the Kingdom of Morocco, given the fundamental and practical step that it represents in promoting dialogue between religions, consolidating the values of tolerance, coexistence, combating hatred and extremism.
In another context, the Speaker of the House of Representatives touched on the painful humanitarian situation in the Palestinian territories, stressing that talking about coexistence and peace necessarily requires looking at the Palestinian reality, as the Palestinians are deprived of their basic rights to obtain food, water and medicine, and they face a catastrophic situation, calling on the international community to assume its urgent humanitarian responsibility to take serious and immediate positions to end the war and the tragic reality that affects civilians, and threatens Their security and life.
His Excellency stressed – in the same context – the Kingdom of Bahrain’s steadfast and calling for resolving crises through dialogue and diplomatic means, and through political negotiations and settlements, and the importance of ending the regional conflicts taking place, especially in the Middle East region, in a way that is in the interest of peoples.
