The activities of the third workshop for the General Surgery Department at the Faculty of Medicine were launched under the title: Using endoscopic surgeries to treat hernia of all kinds.
The workshop came under the patronage of Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nasr, Acting President of Aswan University, Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al -Dahshuri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Mohamed Salah El Din Fahmy, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, in the presence of Dr. Mansour Kabash, former President of Aswan University, Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Vice -Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Director of Al -Jarrah Hospital, and the work team Dr. Ibrahim Al -Zayat Landoscopic hernia, Dr. Ayman Mandour, a teacher of surgery, coordinator of the workshop, and the workshop assistants, Dr. Mahmoud Hassani, Assistant Surgery Assistant, and Dr. Abu Al -Aziz Mahmoud, the medical director of Aswan University Hospital.
The workshop is a real model for linking academic education with practical application
Dr. Louay Saad Eddin Nusrat stressed that the university pays great attention to supporting medical cadres through continuous training and rehabilitation, noting that these workshops represent a real model for linking academic education and practical application in a way that benefits the health service provided to citizens.
For his part, Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al -Dahshuri explained that the College of Medicine in Aswan seeks to open new educational prospects by hosting the major professors specialized in various medical specialties, in order to enhance the status of the college and the university on the scientific and medical scene, and this comes within the framework of exchanging experiences between young doctors and professors of various medical specialties.
Dr. Mohamed Salah El -Din, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, stated that this step comes within the plan of the General Surgery Department in organizing periodic training workshops that contribute to raising the level of surgical skills for doctors, and enhancing the status of Aswan University as a distinguished center in continuous medical education at the level of Upper Egypt.
Dr. Ashraf Maabad, Undersecretary of the Faculty of Medicine, said that the workshop represents an important station for exchanging experiences and seeing the latest techniques of endoscopic surgeries, in which a group of senior professors in this field is attended by Dr.
Dr. Ibrahim Al -Zayat indicated that the workshop includes extensive scientific lectures in which the surgery department doctors at Aswan University and the Ministry of Health doctors from inside and outside the governorate participate, followed by live surgeries during which the operation steps are explained using the screen of the scientific hall in the department.
Dr. Ayman Mandour, coordinator of the workshop and general surgery teacher, also explained that such workshops are a scientific and training platform that allows young doctors to see the latest surgical techniques using perspectives, which contributes to improving the efficiency of medical performance and care provided to patients.
