Ambassador Hatem Raslan, the street ambassador of the State of Gambia and its commercial advisor in Riyadh, will participate in the official delegation of Al -Jambi headed by Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs, in the 51st session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held in Istanbul on 21 and 22 June 2025.

The summit will be held this year, headed by Gambia represented by its Foreign Minister, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, under the slogan “The Organization of Islamic Cooperation in a Changing World”, and discusses a number of political, economic and cultural issues of concern to member states, with a focus on supporting stability and development in Islamic countries, and enhancing joint cooperation in the areas of security, combating terrorism, human rights, education, and health.
Among the most prominent files presented to the discussion this year, the Iran -Israeli war and its regional and international repercussions come at the forefront of the agenda, and the situation in Gaza takes special attention in light of the escalation of violence and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis.
In addition to discussing the developments of the Libyan arena, which is witnessing political tensions, developments in the Sudanese crisis, with the continued displacement and the exacerbation of the humanitarian crisis, along with the challenges in Syria linked to the stage of reconstruction and the threat of the return of terrorist cells.
The course is witnessing the participation of foreign ministers and high -level representatives of 57 members of the organization, as well as delegations from international and regional organizations.
