WASHINGTON – The Pentagon announced, on Wednesday, the death of two American soldiers who were spread in the Middle East to support the military campaign against the terrorist organization “ISIS”, in two separate non -combat incidents that occurred in Kuwait and the Iraqi province of Erbil during the past two days.
“The Pentagon” said in an official statement that the two soldiers died in circumstances that were not related to combat actions, without revealing additional details about the causes of death or the identity of the two soldiers, until their families are notified.
The statement indicated that the investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the two incidents.
This announcement comes in the context of the continued American military presence in the region, where American forces are deployed in Iraq, Syria and Kuwait to provide logistical and consulting support to the local forces in the face of the remnants of ISIS.
The United States maintains about 2,500 soldiers in Iraq, as well as other forces in the countries of the region.
