The US State Department announced, on Tuesday, that the American embassy in Jerusalem will close its doors from Wednesday to Friday; Due to the security situation in the region and in compliance with Israeli directives.
“Given the security situation and in compliance with the directives of the Israeli home front, the American embassy in Jerusalem will close tomorrow (Wednesday 18) until Friday (June 20). This includes the two consulates in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv,” the ministry added in a statement.
The American ambassador to Israel, Mike Hackabi, announced last Monday that an Iranian missile landed near the American embassy in Tel Aviv; It led to slight damage without recording any injuries among the employees.
He pointed out in a statement that “the embassy and its accessories will remain closed today as a precautionary measure.”
The ambassador added: “Our maximum priority is the safety of our diplomatic staff, and we will continue to follow up on the developments in coordination with the Israeli authorities.”
