The Directorate of Health Affairs in Sohag, led by Dr. Amr Dowidar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag, announced the seizure of a addiction treatment center operating without a license and violates health requirements in one of the villages of the Dar Al Salam Center east of Sohag Governorate.

“Dowidar” explained that the center was seized during a joint campaign with a number of concerned authorities, in the context of efforts to protect the health of citizens and ensure the quality of psychotherapy and addiction services.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Sohag indicated that during the passage of the center, it was found that it is not licensed, in violation of the Law of NGOs No. 153 of 2004, in addition to its management without obtaining the approval of mental health in violation of the regulatory law that is No. 71 of 2009.
The management of the place was also shown by unqualified persons and not following the policy of infection control and safe disposal of dangerous and solid medical waste, as it was found that the facility does not apply licensing requirements for addiction treatment centers.
A report against the violating center was issued and legal measures were taken in order to preserve the health and safety of patients.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health also stressed the continuation of the regulatory campaigns on health facilities, stressing the importance of adhering to the legal requirements and approved licenses, and called on citizens not to go to any addiction treatment center except after confirming the licenses in order to preserve the health and safety of patients.
