The Minister of Housing inspects the sewage treatment plant in the village of Qalasoun in Kafr El -Sheikh

Engineer Sherif El -Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, today, Saturday, inspected the sewage treatment station in the village of Qalbah, East of the local unit in Beni Bakkar, in the Mutoubis Center, within the framework of the presidential initiative projects, a generous life launched by President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi, President of the Republic, to develop the villages of the Egyptian countryside and improve the level of services provided to citizens.

The Minister of Housing and the Governor of Kafr El -Sheikh reviewed the components of the project with the officials of the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, and inspected the processing units, ventilation ponds, assembly tanks, operating and control building, to determine the achievement rates, and follow up the stages of implementation in the field.

For his part, Eng. Sherif El -Sherbiny, Minister of Housing, explained that the project is one of the basic pillars of the state plan to connect integrated sewage services for villages and rural areas, in implementation of the directives of the political leadership, stressing the Ministry of Housing’s keenness to follow the accurate follow -up of the quality of implementation and its conformity with technical and environmental standards.

The Minister of Housing confirmed that the treatment plant is held on an area estimated at about 6 acres, and its design capacity is 7500 cubic meters per day, and is implemented through the National Authority for Drinking Water and Sanitation, with funding from a decent life initiative, and the main implementation work of the project has been completed.

The Minister of Housing pointed out that the station serves 6 villages in its first stage: Greatness, Al -Tumoumi, who have been completed by sewage projects with them, their delivery, mouse, living, Al -Baraahama, and Al -Brani, and the work is being implemented with an achievement rate of about 85%, and these villages cover about 12% of the population of the Motopas Center.

This came in the presence of Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sewerage, Mohamed Raafat, Governor’s Assistant, Major General Hassan Abdel -Ghani, President of the Drinking Water and Sewerage Company in Kafr El -Sheikh, Major General Hatem Al -Haydbi, head of the Mutobas Center and City, and a number of executive leaders in the Ministry of Housing and Kafr El -Sheikh Governorate.
