– In the era of speed and instant content, news or situations no longer require time to spread. A transient scene, a partial position, or even a video that does not exceed seconds, may suddenly turn into people’s conversation, and it becomes the focus of interaction in social media platforms, even if it is distorted or deficient. The audience interacts with what they see, and they transmit it quickly, to generate what is known today as “trend”.
– This term is no longer just a passing phenomenon, but rather has become a criterion for the fame of many, and a gateway to opportunities or lights that may be temporary. The irony is that many of these trends are based on familiar events, but transmitting them in an exciting or amputated way is what gives it the “exclusive” character, so people are attracted to it, as if they were unprecedented.
– It is worth noting that social media applications have today become an integral part of the lives of individuals, but sometimes they replace water and air in their importance to some. Many people cannot spend their day without seeing the new platforms, especially with regard to controversial clips, which harvest millions of views and ignite public opinion.
– “The trend” turns into an undeclared daily competition, which users are playing with the aim of obtaining the title of instant fame. However, we must realize that each trend has two sides: one is useful, it may be used to spread awareness or promote religious and scientific values, and the other is harmful, is used to distort concepts or spread rejected behaviors. Perhaps the most prominent forms of negative impact, is what we notice from the changes in the behaviors of some members of the new generation, who have been quoting their actions from non -purposeful contents, contributing to the demolition of the education and values adopted by families.
– Hence, we must reconsider our dealings with this phenomenon. We should not expose ourselves to situations, whether intentionally or unintentionally, with the aim of drawing attention or harvesting likes. Not every fame is based on a transient situation that is an achievement. The true value of a person lies in his reputation, morals and giving, not in his name circulating for hours or days.
– How many people suddenly shine because of the “trend”, then they disappeared shortly after they did not build their glory on a solid foundation, but rather in a false light that did not last. Real fame does not come from chance or a video clip, but rather a march of fatigue, work, and constant effort.
Excessive attachment to the word “trend” may kill ambition before being born. Let us make ourselves a value that remains, not an illusion that goes away with the first forgetfulness.
