In a quick response to the demands of the people of the Armant Center and City, west of Luxor Governorate, Brigadier Ahmed Al -Hawari, head of the Armant Center and City, announced the cancellation of entry fees for the new Armant Corniche, as of today, Tuesday, June 10, after the resentment of the people after the imposition of 10 pounds fees on adults to enter the Corniche.
The resentment of the people and urgent intervention
The city of Armant witnessed a state of public discontent after the rented company of the Armant Corniche, imposing entry fees worth 10 pounds on adults without children.
In a special statement to “Cairo 24”, Brigadier Ahmed Al -Hawari explained that the Corniche is leased from Luxor Governorate for a private company, which is the same company responsible for the Luxor and Qurna Corniche administration.
He pointed out that the company resorted to imposing fees to cover the costs of insurance and maintenance and provide protection for facilities and people from harassment through private security personnel.
The city president attributed the company to do so to the lack of additional resources for the corniche, such as shops and rented cafeterias, unlike the Luxor and Qurna Corniche.
Entry for free after immediate communication
The head of the city confirmed that immediately after receiving the complaints of the people, the urgent communication was made with the officials of the rented company, and after discussing the demands of the citizens, it was decided to cancel the entry fees permanently from today. He added: “The entry is now free for all citizens, with the continued development work to provide a service worthy of the people of Armant.”
Continuous development to serve the people
It is worth noting that the first stage of the development of the Armant Corniche was completed by the efforts of the Reconstruction Agency of the Red Sea branch of the Ministry of Housing. The work is currently underway on the second stage, which includes the establishment of a family and child park and a happy event park, as it is expected to be completed soon to complete the development work and provide an integrated entertainment environment.
Commitment to reduce burdens and improve services
The decision to cancel the fees comes as a step to alleviate the burdens on the shoulders of Armant, while emphasizing the company’s continued securing the Corniche and maintaining its facilities.
This procedure reflects the keenness of the responsible authorities to respond to the demands of citizens and provide a safe and free entertainment environment for all, but it raises questions about the mechanisms for financing maintenance of public utilities in the future, especially in areas that lack self -resources.
