Dr. Asmaa Issa, Head of the Bee Department at the Agricultural Research Center at the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed that Egypt has a promising future in the field of beekeeping, as it is a production industry with a strong economic return, whether through the production and sale of welcoming parcels or exporting them and exporting sales.
Requests to tighten control over local markets
Issa explained, through a video of the Cabinet Information Center, that Egypt occupies an international advanced arrangement in the export of honey, thanks to the high quality of the bee products, which are strictly analyzed within the specialized laboratories using the latest devices, ensuring that they are free of any impurities or pollutants.
She added that the center provides training courses for beginners and university students, with the aim of spreading a culture of beekeeping, not only for honey production, but also to enhance the role of bees as a natural pollinator that greatly contributes to increasing the productivity of agricultural crops and achieving food security.
She emphasized that the difference in work in the governorates is conducting free field visits to examine the patterns when receiving any complaint from beekeepers, and it analyzes cases and provides appropriate therapeutic prescriptions for any problems or diseases that affect bees.
It also called for tightening control over local markets, a responsibility that falls on the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Authority, to ensure the protection of the quality of honey allocated to the Egyptian consumer.
She concluded by emphasizing that the bee sector in Egypt is witnessing a continuous development, and that there is insistence on reaching regional and international leadership in this field, saying: Egypt is fine, and we are 24 hours to serve the beekeepers in all governorates.
