The Egyptian French Center for the Study of Karnak Temples (CFETK) announced the conclusion of the exploration season for the year 2025 in the southeastern region of the Karnak temples complex, as part of a campaign from the river to the southeast of Karnak, and the campaign focused on an archaeological neighborhood study that represents part of the old city of Taiba, where field works revealed a rich residential sequence that extends from the era of the middle state until the beginning of the modern state.
Reviving the details of daily life in Taiba
The scientific team is currently continuing to analyze discovered materials and documentation and restoration work, within the framework of a careful scientific program aimed at deepening the understanding of this important site, and reviving the details of daily life in Taibah during one of its most important historical periods.




This campaign is an extension of the continuous efforts made by the center in cooperation between the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the French Institute for Oriental Antiquities, in order to preserve and document the Egyptian heritage in accordance with the latest international scientific standards.
International Museum Day
In another context, Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, previously opened a temporary archaeological exhibition entitled “Golden Karnak Jewelry”, in the Luxor Museum of Ancient Egyptian Art, as part of the celebrations of International Museums Day.
The exhibition includes a unique group of golden jewelry dating back to the beginning of the twenty-sixth family, which was recently unveiled within a pottery vessel preserved in good condition, during the works of the Egyptian-French archaeological mission, affiliated with the Egyptian-French Center for the study of the Karnakk temples (CFETK) and the Supreme Council of Antiquities, north of the Karnak Temple.
