Farid Muharram, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Ain Shams University, announced the launch of two new programs for the academic year 2025-2026
He said in exclusive statements to “Cairo 24” that the first program relates to “banking sciences”, which obtained initial approvals, and the second “Business Administration Technology” program in cooperation with the College of Computers.
Muharram stressed that the aim of these programs is to keep pace with recent developments in the labor market and meet students’ needs in a manner commensurate with global trends. He explained that the college is also planning to convert the French language program into the accredited hours system, while providing master’s and doctorate degrees in cooperation with a French university.
He pointed out that the college currently includes about 63 thousand students in various programs, including the Arabic, English and French Language Division, stressing that the continuous development of programs is an essential part of its strategic vision to enhance the college’s position locally and internationally.
Earlier, Dr. Ayman Farid, Acting Head of the Cultural Affairs and Mission Sector at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, confirmed that the Egyptian grant program has witnessed a wide turnout in recent years despite the relatively low number of grants provided, with the aim of raising their quality and focusing support on priority specializations that meet the needs of the labor market in Egypt.
Dr. Ayman Farid added in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that grants are presented through an electronic platform that adheres to accurate standards that guarantee its access to the beneficiaries, stressing the ministry’s keenness to achieve justice and transparency in the distribution of grants.
He pointed out that currently, scholarships constitute about 35 to 40% of the total number of students in Egypt, while the rest study their own expense, stressing that the ministry aims to maintain this percentage in the future, so that about a quarter of students are benefiting from the scholarships, compared to three quarters that depend on self -financing.
