The demand for livestock markets in Bahrain has increased to buy sacrifices, especially with the moderate climatic atmosphere, at a time when the prices of the Somali sheep ranged between 55 to 70 dinars, while the price of Al -Naimi starts from 160 dinars to 180 dinars.
Certified veterinary doctors in the Hamala slaughterhouse yesterday confirmed that all the sacrifices that were examined before and after the slaughter are sound and valid for human consumption, noting that any sacrifice suspected of any secretions or pests is isolated immediately.
One of the approved veterinarians pointed out that the demand for Somali and the Arab is equally equal, as Somali prices range from 55 to 70 dinars for the head, pointing out that the slaughterhouse examines the sacrifice before selling it to ensure its safety.
It is now possible to obtain sacrifices more easily through the delivery services provided by some specialized applications, which allow consumers to choose the type of sacrifice, its specifications and price, and then connect it to the door of the house, in a move that contributed to facilitating the purchase process and relieving the crowd in the markets.
These applications offer different types of sacrifices, and prices are shown clearly according to each category, which allowed the consumer multiple options and accurate information that helps him make his decision.
Mahmoud Al -Baqali, the owner of one of the local farms, stressed that the market is witnessing a great demand for the purchase of sacrifices, explaining that the turnout is excellent compared to last year, and the demand is greater than it was expected.
He indicated that there are two main types of sacrifices available in the local market, namely “Al -Naimi” and “Somali”, explaining that Al -Naimi is one of the excellent types, and its price starts from 160 to 180 dinars, indicating that the price rises according to the weight of livestock, and he said: “Customers usually prefer Al -Naimi; Due to its high quality and distinguished taste.
He added that the other type is Somali, and its price begins from 60 to 70 dinars, stressing that the prices differ according to weight and size, which takes into account the various budgets among consumers.
Al -Baqali explained that the reason behind the increase in demand this year is the improvement of climatic conditions, adding that last year witnessed very high temperatures, which led to the death of some livestock, which negatively affected sales.
As for this year, he confirmed that the moderate weather helped the farmer to maintain the health of livestock, and no deaths have yet been recorded, which has contributed to the stability of the market and the increase in the sale.
He pointed out that moderation in temperatures is usually a positive factor. He said: “Every year, the turnout is better when the atmosphere is moderate, which is what we are witnessing this year clearly.”
