Sheikh Al -Qassabin and the eldest age in the Al -Lahm market in Manama, Abdul Ali Rajab “Abu Hassan” confirmed that the market witnessed an increase in demand starting from last Monday, and reached its climax at dawn today, due to the high demand for sacrifices.
He pointed out that he is 70 years old, of which he spent 55 years of working in the profession of Al -Qassabin, in violation of his father’s opinion, who was a teacher in the Ministry of Education, and asked him to inherit the profession of knowledge, but he preferred to sell and trade the meat as an inheritance for his mother’s family.
He said: “My father’s salary was at that time 100 dinars, while I was earning this amount in only one day of selling meat.”
However, he added, “Today I see my children reject my profession, prefer to work in the offices, where I have a daughter and a second official in a bank, and a third working at Bahrain airport, in addition to two children working in jobs, and they all refused to inherit my profession, and times and priorities differed after 5 decades.”
Regarding the average sale of meat on Eid al -Adha, the veteran Al -Qassab explained that the request started from last Monday, with an average slaughter of 100 sheep to 200 heads, and the rate rose to the dawn of the day of Eid, and said: “We continue to work from Eid to Friday to sell and slaughter the sacrifices.”
