The management of the Port Said International Film Festival, headed by film critic Ahmed Asr, announced the start of receiving films participating in the first session of the festival, which is scheduled to be held in Port Said City from 18 to 22 September 2025.
Films will start receiving from Thursday 5 June to July 20, 2025 through the festival’s official website.
Opening the door for films in the first session of the Port Said International Film Festival
The festival administration expressed its deep thanks to all filmmakers who presented their work last year, stressing its commitment to support cinematic creativity.
The first session was to be held in December 2024, but circumstances beyond the will led to the postponement of the date to September 2025, and according to the official regulations of the festival, participation in official competitions is limited to the films produced as of January 1, 2024
In this context, the festival administration apologizes for the inability to accept the films produced before this date within the official competitions, while emphasizing its great appreciation of its artistic value, and the administration also maintains the right to choose some of these works to display them outside the contests in coordination with their makers.
This year’s session focuses on receiving films produced during the year 2025 only, to be submitted from June 5 to July 20, 2025 through the festival’s official website with the continued adoption of the films produced in 2024, which were previously presented.
This decision comes within the framework of the festival administration’s keenness to adhere to the approved regulations and ensure the provision of an artistic level that accompanies the developments of the contemporary cinematic scene and encourages the production of new works of high quality.
