The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities organized, today, the “Al -Hayya Pay” event on Boumahir Beach in Muharraq, amid a wide participation of the audience of families and children.
The program to celebrate this popular occasion included the narration of the “living” story, in addition to the participation of a group in the performance of clips of folklore associated with this tradition.
The Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities is keen to present an annual activity on the occasion of “the living” before the blessed Eid Al -Adha, in order to enhance the participation of the public in various heritage and cultural occasions, in addition to raising awareness of the importance of Bahraini cultural heritage.
The “living” is distinguished by the participation of children who wear traditional clothes, and they gather at the sea coast with their relatives to throw the “living”, which is a basket made of palm fronds that are planted with grains such as barley or wheat.
