Today, Wednesday, a cargo plane was bombed at Nyala Airport, the capital of South Darfur State, western Sudan, where violent battles take place between the regular army and the Rapid Support Forces, according to witnesses to the French News Agency.
The agency, quoting its sources, said that strong explosions had been dominated for an hour in several parts of the city controlled by the Rapid Support Forces that have been fighting since April 2023 the Sudanese army.
The army nor the rapid support forces provided information about the strikes on Nyala.
In recent weeks, air strikes have intensified the largest city in Darfur, and in particular targeted its airport, knowing that it is the strategic stronghold of the Rapid Support Forces.
In early May, a cargo plane was fire at the airport when it landed, according to the French News Agency quoted a military source.
This comes while pictures of satellites, analyzed by the HR, showed that six Chinese -made marches at Nyala Airport “are able to monitor and direct long -term strikes,” according to HLR.
After being destroyed by war, starvation, and cholera, Sudan today is divided so that the army controlled the north, east and central of the country, while the Rapid Support Forces control parts of the south and almost all Darfur.
The war left thousands of people dead and displaced millions and caused “the largest current humanitarian crisis”, according to the United Nations.
