The diplomacy of the Kingdom of Bahrain has always been always and never represented the voice of wisdom and moderation, calling for peace, and rejecting hatred and violence, combating terrorism and extremism, at all levels, and at various levels, Gulf, regionally, Arab and international, in implementation of the wise visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, with the direction and direction and follow -up of the owner Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, may God protect him.
From this standpoint, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s progress to run for a permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the period 2026-2027, based on its firm commitment to international peace and security, and to achieve the aforementioned goals, as the Kingdom plays through its membership in Gulf, regional, Arab and international organizations, a pivotal role, which seeks to prevail over the language of dialogue and negotiation, and reach the points of agreement and not difference.
Therefore, the vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain through its membership is based on the principle of “building bridges of peace for the present and the future”, in addition to believing in the consolidation of peace and stability, confronting traditional and emerging security threats, ensuring inclusiveness and participation, promoting pluralism, especially since the Kingdom has a set of major priorities during the membership period, perhaps the most prominent, the consolidation of a culture of peace and coexistence, promoting international law and humanitarian action, and fighting terrorism Extremism, support for cybersecurity, empowering youth and women, facing climate and sea challenges, activating the role of regional organizations and developing methods of work of the Security Council.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is based on the candidacy for a permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the period 2026-2027, on the history of an honorable line through the unconscious membership in the Security Council during the period 1998-1999, where it presented a civilized model in supporting the efforts of the international community, as this was followed directly membership in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the United Nations Economic and Social Council during the period from 2000-2003, based on great efforts by the diplomatic staff of the Kingdom of Bahrain led by His Excellency His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Jassim Muhammad Boulay, while working as a permanent delegate to the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, during the period of the special actor of His Majesty the King, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs at the time.
The invitation of His Majesty the Great King, may God protect and preserve him, came to an international peace conference in the Middle East, during the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level in its thirty -third regular session, which was hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain in May 2024, to represent a historical diplomatic and political achievement that is calculated for the Kingdom thanks to the wise visions of His Majesty the great king, where this blessed call demonstrates the Kingdom’s approach in the necessity of solidarity and solidarity Collective action to overcome challenges and find real solutions to various regional and international issues.
We do not miss in this regard, noting and praising the great efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its distinguished cadres under the leadership of Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, where Bahraini diplomacy pursues a wise and influential approach that stresses the need to support the vision of a safe, stable and interrelated world.
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s obtaining an unsuccessful membership in the United Nations Security Council for the period 2026-2027 represents a victory for the voice of wisdom, the most correct mind, moderation, and the priority of the language of dialogue, within the council, in light of the regional and international challenges facing the countries of the world, and in a serious attempt to stop wars, conflicts and crises around the world.
