The Kingdom of Bahrain’s candidacy for permanent membership in the United Nations Security Council for the period (2026-2027) comes an important step within its extended diplomatic career, and an embodiment of the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of the country, and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, in establishing the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a reliable partner who contributes effectively In making peace and promoting international security and stability.

The Kingdom of Bahrain undertakes through its membership in the United Nations Security Council to participate effectively and constructively with the rest of the council members and the international community, and to confront emerging security threats, guarantee totalitarianism and enhance pluralism.

The priorities of the Kingdom of Bahrain through membership include the consolidation of peace and stability, confronting traditional and emerging security threats, guaranteeing totalitarianism, participation and enhancing pluralism.

The Kingdom of Bahrain believes in peace as a strategic option, and throughout history, the Kingdom of Bahrain maintained its approach to openness to the world, which contributed to building a balanced diplomacy based on the values ​​of peace, dialogue and coexistence, and Bahrain’s positions on various local, regional and international levels reflect their commitment to these values, and its full respect for the principles of international law.

The Kingdom of Bahrain also confirms its efforts to ensure compliance with international law, including international humanitarian law, as it adheres to the basic principles of the United Nations Charter over state sovereignty and non -interference in its internal affairs, and resolving conflicts by peaceful means, and this comes from its belief that preserving the legitimacy of decisions is an important priority.

The Kingdom of Bahrain aspires, through its inaccurate membership in the Security Council, to adopt a pioneering role in the region to combat terrorism and extremism, and Bahrain will seek to achieve cyberspace security, and ensure the exploitation of the capabilities of information and communication technology for innovation and peaceful use.

It will also create a common ground to confront climate security challenges, ensure compatibility of conflict reduction procedures, and to enhance peace with climate change responses.

The Kingdom of Bahrain plays a pivotal role in supporting the efforts to protect international maritime navigation, and this is embodied through its efforts in enhancing international cooperation to counter traditional and emerging maritime threats, protecting global supply chains, supporting peacekeeping operations, and the Kingdom of Bahrain will support collective work to meet the challenges that threaten maritime security and global stability.

To ensure totalitarianism and participation, the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Security Council will focus on women’s participation and youth participation.
