A bridge collapsed in the Russian Breansk region, adjacent to the border of Ukraine, on Saturday evening, causing a traffic accident that included a passenger train.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency reported that 7 people were killed and 28 others were wounded, according to the initial data, as a result of the collapse of a cars bridge in the Breansk area.
The TASS agency quoted the Russian Ministry of Health as saying that 17 injured, including a child, were transferred to the medical institutions in the Breansk region, and two of them are in a serious condition.
What happened?
The Governor of Prishesk, Alexander Bogomaz, announced the collapse of a bridge in the Vigonichi area of Bryangsk Province, which resulted in a traffic accident that included a train and cars.
Fire and rescue teams are working on the bridge collapse site in the Breansk area, and additional forces have been sent to the area, according to the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency.
In a statement, the Moscow Railways Administration said that the deviation of a locomotive and vehicles from its path in the Bryansk region was the result of illegal interference in transportation activities.
The “Baza” and “Shot” channels reported on Telegram that the passenger train collapsed with the collapsed bridge. The two channels often publish information from sources in security and law enforcement.
Baza channel said that preliminary information indicates that the bridge was bombed, without providing evidence.
