Today, Monday, 5 – 2025, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics issued the annual bulletin for pure water statistics and sanitation in 2023/2024, and one of its most important indicators was the following:

Pure drinking water

• The total amount of pure water produced was 11.6 billion m3 in 2023 “2024, compared to 11.3 billion m 3 2022/2023, an increase of 2.5%.

• The total amount of clean water consumed 9.1 billion m 3 in 2023 “2024 compared to 8.9 billion m 3 in 2022/2023, an increase of 2.7%.

• The total number of pure water stations produced from the surface water of the Nile River reached 1149 stations, with a production amount of 10.4 billion m3 in 2023/2024.

• The total number of pure water stations produced from artesian water was 1549, with an amount of production of one billion square meters in 2023/2024.

• The total number of pure water stations produced from well water reached 40, with a production amount of 0.04 billion m3 in 2023/2024.

• The total number of pure water stations produced from desalination water reached 57, with an amount of production of 0.2 billion cubic meters in 2023/2024.

• The average per capita share of the pure water produced was 108.6 m 3 in 2023/2024.

• The average per capita water consumed water reached 85.7 m 3 in 2023/2024.

• The percentage of losses of pure water produced for the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation reached 25.7% in 2023/2024 compared to 26.1% in 2022/2023, with a decrease of 1.5%.

• The percentage of congruence of samples raised to examine the production stations of the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation reached 99%, while this percentage of the production stations of the Suez Canal Authority reached 96.1% in 2023 “2024.

• The percentage of congruence in the distribution networks of the companies affiliated with the holding company reached 99.1%, while 96.5% for the distribution networks of the Suez Canal Authority in 2023 “2024.

The number of sewage stations

• The total number of processed sewage stations reached 518 in 2023/2024 compared to 508 stations in 2022/2023, an increase of 2%.
• The total treatment amount of exchange was 5.6 billion m3 in 2023/2024, compared to 5.4 billion m 3 in 2022/2023, an increase of 3.7%.
