The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture revealed its desire to develop and strengthen the Bahraini Halal system, which is still under construction and establishment, by offering a local public tender to contract with a specialized consulting company.
The Ministry indicated that this stage of the project is essential and pivotal, as the selected advisory company will take responsibility for laying the technical and organizational foundations necessary to ensure an effective application of international best practices in the field of halal systems, in a way that enhances the efficiency and reliability of the national system.
The Ministry called on consulting companies with experience and efficiency in this field, and the desire to participate, to apply according to the conditions and specifications that will be mentioned in the tender documents, noting that the contract period will extend for a year.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade launched a forum and exhibition of halal industry and its services last February, which is the first of its kind, during which it confirmed that Bahrain pays great attention to the Halal industry in various various fields, at a time when the Halal Global Market is witnessing an accelerated growth, which reflects the increasing demand for good goods and services; And that is through the establishment of a national system for halal, aimed at unifying and facilitating halal procedures, while ensuring that the products circulated are within the criteria of halal, and applied to all the products and services of the Halal sector, as the ministry through the National Standardization Authority is working with partners in the public and private sector and regional and Islamic organizations, to adopt the standard specifications and technical regulations related to the halal; To put the infrastructure for the work of the system.
For its part, the Bahrain Chamber and Trade continues to expand the halal industry sector and conclude influential international agreements, by signing many notes of cooperation with international private companies, in addition to implementing many ambitious recommendations, the most important of which is the establishment of the Halal Center of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture to meet the export requirements of the markets, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and obtain a “halal” certificate and a HACCP certificate to enter the market.
The Chamber also seeks to make Bahrain a regional center for exporting food and cosmetics and other halal products, and motivating small and medium enterprises to enter the Halal Trading and Industry.
