In a move that surprised political and media circles, US President Donald Trump has become the most prominent names for the Nobel Peace Prize for this year.
Trump’s obsession with the Nobel Peace Prize
Donald Trump, 78, has never hidden his unbridled desire to obtain the prize that he has always considered a personal entitlement, especially after he was awarded to former President Barack Obama in 2009, and on more than one occasion, Trump criticized this decision, stressing that he made achievements exceeding what Obama made.
In a statement during an interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said: They will never give me the Nobel Prize, although I deserve it, this is unfortunate.
He also commented in an electoral gathering in Detroit, saying: If I were democratic, they would have gave me the award even before I signed any agreement.
Official nomination .. but!
Despite the extensive criticism, Republican Daril Issa announced that Trump was officially nominated for the award last March, praising his contributions to supporting global stability after his election as president of a second term in 2024, and Issa said: No president has ever since Ragan made an example of peace through strength as Trump did.
However, the opinions of political observers are still divided, as Christian Tiberring Gidi, Norwegian politician and member of the Foreign Relations Committee, believes that Trump’s victory is still a long time, due to the nature of his disturbing stances among Europeans.
The date for the announcement of the Nobel Peace Prize
The Nobel Peace Prize winner is scheduled to be announced on December 10, amid an unprecedented awaiting state, especially if Trump is inserted into the list of those who have obtained, which so far includes only four American presidents, Theodore Roosevelt, Woodro Wilson, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama.
