Tottenham won the European Football League title “Europa League”, on Wednesday evening, after winning 1-0 over Manchester United in the final at the Saint Mames Stadium in Bilbao, decisive to qualify for the Champions League next season.
This is the first title to Tottenham since winning the 2008 English League Cup and the first European title since 1984, but it is the fourth time that Manchester United beat this season.
The Welsh Brennan Johnson scored his goal in the 42nd minute when United’s defense collapsed after a cross pass from Senegalese Babi Mattar Sar, while Andre Yunana remained in his own goal.
Johnson and United defender Luke Shaw rushed to the ball, and it seemed that she slipped from them inside the goal, to pass from the hand of Unana.
The goal was dull as the match in a confrontation between two teams, a disappointing season in the Premier League, as United is 16th and Tottenham followed in the ranking.
It was a great opportunity for United striker Hasilos to draw a tie with the mid -half header, but Tottenham defender Mickey was removed from the goal line.
