Canada Foreign Minister Anita Anand said that 4 Canadians were part of the diplomatic delegation that fired Israeli army soldiers close to him in the West Bank, on Wednesday.
The minister added on the “X” platform, commenting: “I spoke with the head of the Canadian mission in Ramallah earlier today.
I confirm that 4 of our employees were in the delegation in the West Bank when the Israeli Defense Army shot their surroundings.
She added, “I am comfortable knowing that our team is fine. I asked my officials to summon the Israeli ambassador to inform him of Canada’s serious concerns.”
The Canadian Minister called on Israel to conduct an investigation and hold the officials accountable, saying: “We expect a comprehensive investigation and hold the officials accountable.”
European countries condemned the launch of the Israeli army what it said was “warning shots” towards diplomats who were visiting in the city of Jenin in the West Bank.
“Any threat to the life of diplomats is unacceptable.”
