US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that more Arab countries will establish relations with Israel this year, while Washington is pressure strongly to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
“I think we might get good news, certainly before the end of this year, regarding a number of other countries that want to join these agreements,” Rubio said to the US House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee today.
US President Donald Trump has launched the so -called “Ibrahim Conventions” with the approaching end of his first term in 2020, according to which the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco became the first Arab country in decades to print relations with Israel.
According to the Times of Israel newspaper, Saudi Arabia was in advanced talks on normalization, with the support of the administration of then Joe Biden, before the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, which stopped the talks.
While Saudi Arabia confirmed on more than one occasion that it will not establish relations with Israel except in the context of recognizing the Palestinian state and its establishment on the borders of June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital, and this was in response to previous American advertisements.
