The Israeli army is participating in large -scale military exercises led by the United States in Morocco and a number of neighboring African countries, according to the Times of Israel.
The US military leadership in Africa announced that the annual joint maneuvers with Morocco, which bears the name of the African lion, includes about 10 thousand elements from more than 40 countries, and take place between April 14 and May 23.
The participation of the Israeli forces is limited to the training that takes place inside the Moroccan territories, while the maneuvers also include countries MGhana, Senegal and Tunisia, knowing that the latter does not establish diplomatic relations with Israel.
This Israeli participation in the African Assad maneuvers is not the first of its kind.
During the past week, during the course of the exercise, two soldiers from the Israeli Army’s Paratroopers School were injured in moderation after a traffic accident, according to the Israeli army.
The Israeli forces did not reveal the rest of the units participating in the maneuvers, but a picture that was circulated on the Internet yesterday showed the presence of members of the reconnaissance unit of Major General Golani within the exercise, according to the Israeli newspaper The Times.
