The executive office organizes a high -level Gulf event on the protection of children in the digital world

Under the patronage and presence of the Minister of Social Development in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Professor Osama Al -Alawi, the Executive Office of the Council of Labor Ministers and the Ministers of Social Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council states is organizing a Gulf dialogue session under the title “Protecting our children in the digital world”, on May 21, 2025 at the Winddam Grand – Bahrain Hotel.

This event comes within the framework of the efforts of the executive office to enhance the protection of children in the digital space, in line with the priorities of its work for the year 2025. This workshop is of special importance for the Arab Gulf states, where children represent a large segment of the population, which makes protecting their digital rights and ensuring their online safety is a top priority in the social policies of the Council of the Council.

This session comes within the efforts of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to enhance regional cooperation in the field of child protection in the digital world, as it aims to enhance coordination and exchange Gulf experiences, to see best international practices, in addition to developing preventive mechanisms to protect children from digital risks. It is expected that the session will come out with a set of implemented policymakers, in order to enhance the safety of children in the digital world and support the efforts of countries in this field.

The session aims to shed light on the risks to children in the digital world, including e -bullying, fraud, and sexual exploitation, and the consequently psychological and social effects. It also seeks to review the leading experiences of the countries of the Cooperation Council in the field of child protection in the electronic space, where successful initiatives and effective strategies developed by member states will be presented to confront these challenges, and see the most effective international practices with a focus on digital awareness, patriarchal control and enhance digital safety skills.

High -level representatives from the ministries of social affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries will participate in the session, as well as experts and specialists from international and regional organizations concerned with protecting children, in addition to a number of institutions specialized in digital security.
