The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian Refugee Works Agency (UNRWA) Philip Lazarini said on Sunday that the agency of the agency’s employees in the Gaza Strip exceeded 300, stressing that the vast majority of these employees were killed by the Israeli army.
Lazarini added in a post on “X”: “Throughout this war, it is one of the most horrific news that I receive regularly is the number of UNRWA staff. Today, the number of victims exceeded the barrier of 300 employees. ”
He continued: «The vast majority of these employees were killed by the Israeli army with their children and their loved ones, as complete families were exterminated.
The UNRWA Commissioner explained that most of those who died were health workers and the United Nations health workers.
He added, “Nothing justifies these crimes, and impunity will lead to more murder. Those responsible for these crimes must be held accountable.
For its part, the ICRC told the “Red Cross”, on Sunday, that entire families of the Palestinians are besieging in Gaza after the escalation of Israeli military operations in the Strip.
The committee added in a statement: “entire families are besieged, and they are looking for safety and protection. The needs in Gaza are enormous, and our ability to respond exceeds. In the past few days, hundreds of civilians have been killed and wound, and others are believed to be under the rubble. ”
The committee confirmed in its statement that the European Hospital in South Gaza and the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip has become out of service after they were repeatedly bombed.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) had stated, earlier Sunday, that children in the Gaza Strip are facing the risk of starvation, disease and increasing death due to the prohibition on the entry of aid.
Israel prevented any assistance to the Gaza Strip since last March.
