The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced, on Thursday evening, the implementation of a precise security operation that resulted in the seizure of a large warehouse containing explosive devices intended for the bombing in Lattakia Governorate, northwestern Syria.
Details of the security operation
In an official statement published on the ministry’s account, the ministry clarified that the Lattakia Security Directorate managed to control the warehouse in the village of Hamra, which is affiliated with Al -Qirdaha countryside, noting that the explosive devices were dedicated to targeting safe areas and destabilizing.
1000 advanced packages
The security sources indicated that the number of packages that were seized reaches 1,000 explosive devices, described as “advanced” and ready for use in civilian areas, indicating the seriousness of the plan that was thwarted.
Within efforts to pursue the remnants of the previous regime
This process comes in the context of the ongoing efforts made by the security authorities to pursue the outlaw cells, especially the remaining elements of the former regime who refuse to engage in a political settlement or hand over their weapons.
Previous tensions in the Syrian coast
The Syrian coast region witnessed security tension on March 6, when groups belonging to the former regime launched attacks on patrols and checkpoints, which led to deaths and injuries, in the fiercest escalation in the region since the overthrow of Bashar al -Assad in December 2024.
Continuous efforts to restore stability
Since changing the system, the new administration has been seeking to restore stability by opening settlement centers and pursuing the elements that refuse to integrate, in addition to dismantling networks that threaten internal security.
