Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak Jumaa, Minister of Education, praised the integrated role between the Ministry of Education and the General Authority for Sports, stressing that this integration that was embodied by the joint team between the ministry and the authority in light of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahraini Olympic Committee; It has contributed to the development of school sport and its move towards advanced levels.
The Minister revealed that in light of the issuance of the decision of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa No. (21) of 2025 to dissolve the Bahraini Federation for Schools and Universities, and based on the decision of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Sports headed by His Highness, the Ministry of Education will undertake the tasks that the Bahraini Federation of Schools and Universities was assigned to it, through institutional work through the educational services sector at the Ministry of Education, and in partnership and cooperation with the General Authority for Sports.
The minister stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of the International School Games – Bahrain 2024 in October of last year, under the gracious patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the king of the country, may God protect and preserve him, which culminated in great success, and has received more than 5,000 participants, has accumulated with the Ministry of Education many of the experiences that will employ it in carrying out the tasks of the Bahraini Federation for Schools and Universities, and will be in the forefront of which is a strategy. To choose brilliant student talents, effective communication with the International School Sports Federation (ISF), as well as the arrangement of student participation in various international sports forums.
The Minister of Education thanked and appreciated His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee for his confidence in the Ministry of Education and its employees from educational, administrative and sports cadres.
For his part, Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the General Authority for Sports, praised the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee to enhance cooperation between the authority and the Ministry of Education to benefit from the school and university environment and develop programs and plans to develop the selection and selection of student talents, which will enhance the work of the joint teams between the authority and the ministry, In the interest of preparing distinguished Bahraini athletes in various sports.
The CEO emphasized that the work is currently taking place in coordination with the Ministry of Education to adopt developed mechanisms to survey schools and universities and choose sports talents on the basis of efficiency, merit and entitlement.
