French Foreign Ministry spokesman, Christophe Lemouan, announced that France will file a legal complaint against Iran before the International Court of Justice.
France complains Iran in front of international justice
This move comes in the wake of demonstrations organized by supporters of French citizens who have been detained in Iran for 3 years, to demand their release, according to Reuters.
Cecil Kohler and her partner, Jacques Paris, had been independent in May 2022, and Iranian television later showed a video of them, in which they appeared with confessions apparently working for the French intelligence services, which Paris categorically denies.
France accuses the Iranian authorities of detention of Kohler and Paris in circumstances that it described as torture in Evin prison in Tehran, and indicates that Tehran has not enabled the French consulate to exercise its right to provide consular protection for them, and in return, Iranian officials deny these accusations.
