In preparation for its opening .. The Minister of Tourism is discussing strengthening the position of the Grand Egyptian Museum as an international research center in Egyptology

Sherif Fathi, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, received, at the headquarters of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Ibiasu Yu, head of the Japanese International Cooperation Authority Office (JICA) in Egypt, to discuss the prospects for future partnerships in a way that contributes to exchanging experiences, enhancing scientific and cultural cooperation, building human capabilities, training specialized cadres, and transferring advanced knowledge, in a way that contributes to enhancing the role of the Great Egyptian Scientific and Research Museum in the field of museums and Egyptology, implementing the museum’s vision and shopping for its mark Commercial.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority, Mohamed Fahmy, Assistant Minister for Economic Affairs, a number of Japanese Japanese leaders, museums, officials and representatives of the McKinsey Company in Japan.

The Minister of Tourism discusses strengthening the status of the Grand Egyptian Museum as an international research center in Egyptology

During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the pivotal role played by the Grand Egyptian Museum not only as the largest museum in the world for ancient Egyptian antiquities, but as a pioneering regional and international center in the fields of scientific research and specialized studies in Egyptology.

The mechanisms for implementing the cooperation document that were signed in the early month were also discussed between the Grand Egyptian Museum and Jacic And Japanese.

The meeting also dealt with discussing cooperation mechanisms to provide technical support to the museum in the field of services management and ensure the provision of a distinguished and high -level experience for visitors in addition to building the capabilities of the human element in the museum in a way that contributes to the performance of their administrative and operational tasks and dealing with the operator, in addition to implementing the research strategy of the Grand Egyptian Museum to become the largest regional and international research center to study Egyptology and train specialists in the field of antiquities restoration.

It is worth noting that the Egyptian -Japanese relations are witnessing close cooperation in the fields of tourism and antiquities, embodied in several archaeological projects and memoranda of understanding signed in this framework, in addition to the annual participation of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation at the “Tourism Expo Japan” exhibition. The Japanese capital, Tokyo, also hosts the temporary exhibition “Ramses and the Pharaohs Gold”, in a move that enhances the Egyptian cultural presence globally.
