The Council of Commission for the Rights of Prisoners and detainees held a normal meeting today, Wednesday, at the UNHCR headquarters in the Saif suburb, headed by Mrs. Ghada Hamid Habib, head of the Commission and in the presence of members of the Council and a number of members of the Secretariat of the Commission, where the meeting began to review the items listed on the agenda, and inform what was implemented from the previous meeting decisions, after which the members of the council discussed the details of the drafts of three reports on three visits by the Commission in the past period, It included one of the reform and rehabilitation centers, and two centers from the specialized social welfare centers, where the meeting reviewed the results of these visits and the methodology for preparing reports on them and the observations and recommendations it contained in coordination with the authorities supervising those centers, in preparation for publishing them after their approval in their final form.
The members of the Commission Council also discussed in their meeting today the work of the future commission’s action and the inspection visits, as well as internal development activities and interaction activities with local authorities and institutions related to the work of the commission within the framework of efforts to enhance the role of the commission in the system of independent election institutions and the seeking to enhance the contribution to respecting human rights in its fields of work.
