The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning began yesterday, the demolition of the old housing area buildings, to start the project to rehabilitate the region, which includes 14 residential buildings, according to MP Hamad Al -Dawi, while there are still 11 families with whom they are made to get out of the apartments.
The deputy Al -Dawi explained that the Ministry of Housing has undertaken the demolition of four buildings earlier, while since yesterday, Tuesday is conducting the demolition of the remaining 14 buildings of buildings, including 6 and eight apartments, noting that the demolitions will take two months.
Al -Dawi pointed out that some of the apartments in the buildings are still inhabited, while the Ministry of Housing is making settlements for these people, as the family is scheduled to be awarded 200 dinars “housing allowance” for a period of 5 years, while the deputy, Al -Dawi, initiated an offer to the population to transfer the luggage for free by contacting his office to determine the appointment.
Al -Dawi indicated that the Ministry of Housing also offered the remaining families in the buildings, to ensure that the electricity and water insurance is paid to the authority, when submitting a lease contract for an apartment or house they moved to it, and said that a large percentage of the population who came out obtained houses and housing apartments, while only 11 families remain to work on a settlement with them.
The first housing projects were built in the Bastin area in the eighties of the last century, and today they are in a case that are not valid for housing due to the time of time, and the abandoned apartments are scheduled to be transferred to new housing houses that serve the people of the region with the aim of providing modern housing units that meet the needs of the population and provide a better residential environment.
