Mahmoud Ma’ati, a researcher at the Institute of Marine Sciences and Fisheries in Hurghada, said, Napoleon’s fish is characterized by its peaceful and harmless behavior, as it avoids collisions and prefers to stay in its natural citizen instead of moving significantly at sea.
The sizes of this fish reaches approximately one and a half meters to two meters, and its weights reach about 200 kilograms, which makes it one of the large and perennial fish, Napoleon’s fish feeds on small fish, shellfish and coral, which makes it an important part of the environmental balance in the areas where they live.
Napoleon is one of the fish that can change its gender from female to male, and this phenomenon has not yet been connected scientifically, and it is one of the most important elements of tourist attractions in the coral reef areas in the Red Sea. It attracts tourists and diving enthusiasts to photograph, touch and feed her, enhancing environmental tourism in the region.
