The journalist Firas Hamed, one of the Arab journalists in Israel and the broadcaster in the official broadcasting body, revealed the details of the meeting that brought together French President Emmanuel Macron with the new Syrian President Ahmed Al -Shara.

The media pointed out that the special meeting between the two presidents touched on complex issues that constitute an axis in international and regional relations, and highlights the position of Syria in the new political map in the Middle East.

He also pointed out that the dialogue took place on several thorny files, including the file of foreign fighters on Syrian soil, as Macron stressed the need to end their presence as a threat to international security, and not only for Syria, and the law promised to deal with this file with “accuracy and decisiveness”, while Macron repeated that this issue does not accept postponement.

The media also pointed out that the Kurdish issue was also strongly present, as Macron, whose country is one of the most prominent supporters of the Kurds, demanded the Syrian president to deal with this component, noting the importance of protecting France allies in the region.

The media emphasized that the Druze file and what happened in the Syrian coast was a pivotal discussion point.

On the file of relations with Israel, the media explained that Macron was a direct question about the possibility of negotiation, so that the Sharia answers that Syria is ready to enter into a peace process, but he acknowledged that there is a current inability to respond to repeated Israeli strikes, which puts the regime in a critical position in front of public opinion, and even embarrassed personally.

As for the Turkish role, Macron expressed his country’s rejection of any Turkish dominance of the Syrian decision, stressing the need for the sovereign decision to be in the hands of Damascus alone.

At the end of the meeting, Macron explained that his country will continue to monitor the movements of the new regime, stressing that France will remain an active player in the Syrian file.
