The Civil Defense Agency in the Gaza Strip announced today that 75% of its extinguishing, rescue and ambulance vehicles have stopped working in the governorates of the Strip, due to the exile of the fuel needed to operate them.
The device attributed this stoppage to the strict Israeli siege imposed on the Strip, which caused a severe shortage of fuel supply.
In a statement, the Civil Defense said that this deficiency limits its ability to respond to the calls of humanitarian relief, which threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of citizens and displaced people in shelters.
The United Nations and international institutions called for urgent intervention to open Gaza crossings and allow the entry of fuel to ensure the continued work of humanitarian facilities.
This announcement comes in light of the continued siege and the exacerbation of the humanitarian conditions in the sector, as the population faces great challenges in securing basic needs.
