The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture confirmed that the Capital Secretariat Council has raised 146 recommendations since the beginning of the current legislative term, and 135 of them were approved, 5 to study, and to object to 6 recommendations.
In its response to the question of Representative Mamdouh Al-Saleh, the ministry stated that the budget is specific to the capital’s secretariat to implement several projects within the governorate, and the budget that is agreed with the Capital Secretariat Council is distributed where the project to rehabilitate the central Manama market “the second package” was implemented, and the rehabilitation of a number of gardens, and the total budget allocated to the Secretariat reached 1,011,610 Bahraini dinars for the two years 2023-2024, and with regard to private projects In the year 2024-2025 it is determined after the adoption of the state’s general budget.
The Ministry stated that the budget allocated to the project of development of cities and villages “restoration” is 1.1 million dinars for each municipal council from 2022 until 2024.
She added that the municipal councils are briefed on the budget approved for the project according to the financial year so that the requests are raised to the Ministry through the electronic system according to the budget allocated to each council “equally” in order to implement the restoration requests and rain insulators listed within the city and villages development project, and the ministry also fulfilled 139 requests that fulfill the conditions out of 157 within the city and villages development project in the Capital Governorate until the end of the year 2024.
