An Egyptian diplomatic source said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been following the distress of a group of Egyptian sailors stranded since last February on a ship in Emirati waters, near Sharjah Port.

The source said in exclusive statements to Cairo 24, that coordination will be with the concerned authorities today regarding the distress.
Egyptian sailors seek help
Earlier, 7 Egyptian sailors, on board Petro 1, appealed to the Petrofleet Company, the Egyptian authorities for urgent intervention after they remained stuck in Emirati waters near the city of Sharjah since February 2025, without allowing them to dock or enter the sidewalk.
