I go back to writing after a month’s vacation, to coincide that we are in a week in which we celebrate the International Journalism Day and the day of the Bahraini Press, and here I stop a little to remember several stations, the first of which started exactly three decades ago, that is, since I was a student in the school.
The beginning of the love of this “craft”, and I will not say “a profession”; Because the difference is large and very vast, it is a bon that approximates the seventh sky away from the seventh earth. The beginning was through a famous youth magazine, and I mean here “Majid Magazine”, with which generations have grown, and thanks to which many young people turned to “delegates” and “correspondents” and contributing to publishing by establishing interviews with the various personalities in their homelands, and what distinguishes them was the highlight of the “delegate card”, which we used to consider the card of professional journalists.
The hobby of writing is polished by readings and reflects in the arts of drawing words, selecting the sporting words, and being influenced by smart and innovative narrative methods, and here I will not forget the good impact, the two great late Dr. Nabil Farouk, “The creator of the person of the impossible man”, and “The Godfather” Ahmed Khaled Tawfiq, as from reading their novels and their historical historical chains, the talent of writing and the pursuit of creativity began to be formed.
The press is only a world that employs words, and an area that stands out and brightens the influential writings. Here the passion was increasing when it believed in the most important thing; That writing is not a luxury, but rather a “human message” through which we communicate the pulse of people, discuss issues, criticize errors, and search for solutions and proposals, and through it you realize the meaning of “sense of achievement”, when your letters shake the dust, and move your mountain words, if they achieve the resonance, and met the required move.
The larger time, the more nostalgia for the past, and I say it frankly, as yesterday’s press is the roughness of its methods, and the drafting to be counted on it, and the challenge of achieving the influence and the manufacture of change, it is not the same as the press today, and to dismantle this sentence and analyze it and explain the destination I need the pages of a huge book, because the lines do not bear here, so the difference of “craft” and “profession” is perceived by those who absorb the outputs before Follow.
It is not a diminishing from the results of the limitations of time, but it is the nostalgia for a time when the reliance on the influence of the pen was greater, the focus on the strength of the repercussions of the journalistic work was stronger and stronger, and here we are talking about margins necessarily changed by times and priorities, but there remains a golden era and a prosperous period for every human art practiced on this earth.
The letters of the pen are more dangerous than bullets, and this saying has evidence everywhere, and how many stories reveal the influential role that the press has played in drawing the history of civilizations and nations, and how the press for its homeland was moving according to principles, values and duty, how it represented a heated weapon, but it does not need ammunition except inks and before the conscience and sincerity of the goals of this “craft”.
Because it is with this effect, history in the past and present tells of efforts and attempts to influence the press or put out its voice, especially those who do not want her to play her role and adhere to her bright mission, and therefore you will find statistics documenting the number of martyrs of this profession around the world, especially those who cover the suffering of humanity and humanity in the “hotbeds of wars” or “disaster ruin”.
There are two sides for each plate, and human beings are always preferred to see the bright face, but the truth proves that without the dark side, radiance would not have been valuable.
In Bahrain, we mention to our dear king the launch of his reform project boldly and courageously, based on the most important foundations that we sanctify in our journalistic work and our written work, which is freedom, credibility, integrity and communicating the voice of people. And how with him the greater the bright face of our journalism, and represented in pure national roles, turned what we are already writing into bullets that protect the homeland and address its superiority, and transformed the words into a construction and support tool for the precious Bahrain and its good people. Also, we mention to His Highness the Crown Prince, the Speaker of our Expensary Pleasures, his support, interest and constant appreciation for our national journalism, role and impact.
Here is the first to rely on a brighter tomorrow, and a future that gives the press more support and support to play its required role, and to be already a pulse of people and a voice for them. To be the power of the homeland, and a shield against those who see its words as bullets, not inks.
