Saudi Arabia leads the Middle East in the maturity of digital government services for 2024

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia topped the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region in the maturity of electronic government services and mobile services for the year 2024, ranked first for the third time in a row at a maturity of 96% in the general evaluation. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that the index issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Committee of Asia Western (ESCWA) reflects the great support from the Saudi leadership of the digital government system.

The Governor of the Digital Government, Eng. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al -Suwaian, stressed that the integration between government agencies and the use of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies contributed to enhancing the Kingdom’s position globally and improving the experience of beneficiaries. This included solutions such as digital medical recipes, dates reservation, distance health care, and distance learning platforms, which strengthened the quality of services and the consent of the beneficiaries. In “reaching the public”, the Kingdom achieved a 25 -ranked jump in the United Nations E -government development index 2024, to become among the world leading countries, ranked fourth in the world and the first regionally in the digital services index, and the seventh globally in electronic participation, with Riyadh classification third among 193 global cities.
