Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, President of the Supreme Council of the Arab Women Organization in its current session, said that Egypt has made tangible progress to empower women, as the national strategy to empower Egyptian women 2030 highlights the importance of digitization, technology, innovation and financial inclusion since 2017.
She explained that the national initiatives and frameworks for empowerment and investment in girls included activities to raise awareness of technology and innovation topics, we have 36 % graduates of higher education, 48 % of women in scientific research, 40 % percent of women working in the information and communications technology sector, and 50 % of women’s leaders in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Egypt has implemented programs and initiatives to encourage women to enter into the fields of information technology and communication technology, Science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
This came during her speech at the tenth General Conference of the Arab Women Organization under the title “Communication, Empowerment and Protection for Women and Girls from Cyber Violence and Violence resulting from technology and artificial intelligence, which is located under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El -Sisi.
She pointed out that during the past 10 years, the total patent patents reached 965 of them 131 women and 318 women and men together, and the partnership took place for the first time with the World Intellectual Property Organization “WeBo”, to enable business leaders in local societies, and a platform for empowering women offers training opportunities and prizes for the best innovative ideas, and Egypt launched Hackthon Technology to face violence against women, in addition To awareness campaigns in cooperation with social media platforms, to provide a safe environment for women.
The Minister of Social Solidarity concluded her speech by saying: We will not lose sight of this forum, talking about the suffering that our people are going through in Gaza, the impact of war, hostilities and targeting of civilians … who direct obstacles that cannot be overcome and fade to reach medical care, services and the necessities of daily life .. and we repeat our categorical rejection of the inhuman situation that our people live in in a sector .. The continuation of the blockade and the deterioration of the living conditions Health constitutes a stigma on the forehead of all humanity, and we repeat the demand of the international community to move immediately to raise injustice and provide the necessary support to ensure a safe and safe life for the residents of the sector.
