The Supreme Council for the Environment refused, proposing to establish a number of mattresses to sell fish in the eighth and ninth circles in the southern governorate.
He stated in his response to the municipal council of the southern region that the marine wealth studied the proposal, and it was found that it is part of a previous proposal submitted by the Municipal Council in 2022 to establish an integrated central market in the Zallaq region.
The council indicated that the proposal, after studying by the specialists, was not approved due to the lack of feasibility as a result of the small two regions and the presence of commercial stores to sell fish in the same region, which cover the needs of the residents and the people of the region.
The proposal was submitted by the representative of the eighth district Ali Al -Sheikh, and member Hamad Al -Zoubi, representative of the ninth district, and the proposal included the establishment of mattresses to sell fish in the Askar and Al -Zaqa port in the southern governorate.
According to the justifications, the proposal comes in response to the increasing needs of the people in the two regions, where each of the Zalqa and Askar areas lacks brushes for selling fish and fresh marine biology, similar to what is present in the imposition of Budaiya and the limit.
The proposal aims to provide an organized and legal environment for sale, as sellers are granted licenses and commercial records to practice the fishing profession, and the proposal will also contribute to creating new job opportunities for citizens of citizens, in addition to achieving material returns for the municipality of the southern region.
These mattresses will be a suitable place to display fish and marine products on a daily basis for fishermen from the people of Zallaq and Askar instead of selling them in the central market of Manama and other markets.
