Dr. Fakhry Al -Fiqi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Plan and Budget Committee, stressed that the budget for the new fiscal year was called the balance of growth, stability, partnership and confidence between tax interests and society on it, noting that it aims to enhance production rates and economic growth.

Fakhry Al -Fiqi, during his meeting with the media Karima Awad, on the “Hadith of Cairo” program, broadcast on the “Cairo and People” screen, said that the government expects that the gross domestic product will record during the fiscal year 2024/2025 about 17.3 trillion pounds, provided that it rises to 20.4 trillion pounds in the budget of 2025/2026, in light of the continued economic reforms and improving the investment environment.
Fakhry Al -Faqi pointed out that the population growth rates in Egypt have begun to decline during the past years, to record about 1.3%, which contributes to improving development indicators, explaining that supporting a loaf of bread costs about 100 billion pounds, and about 70 million citizens benefit from it, and that the support of diesel benefits all those who live on the land of Egypt, given its use in transportation, agriculture and industry.
He continued, that the percentage of citizens living below the poverty line amounts to about 32% of the total population, stressing that social protection programs aim to alleviate the burdens of living over the most needy groups.
