The coach of the Qatari Umm Salal team, Patrice Bommel, revealed the reality of the Egyptian Al -Ahly club negotiations with him to take over the technical leadership of the Red Castle, succeeding the late Marcel Koler.

“I follow the Egyptian football and Al -Ahly Club, but there are no official talks to take over the technical leadership of the Red Castle during the current period.”
He added: “Training the Egyptian Al -Ahly is a big dream for me, but there was no direct contact with me, and I have a contract with Umm Salal and I hope that I will lead the Red Castle one day.”
He continued: “At the present time, I focus greatly on the Prince Cup in Qatar and I will wait for what will happen in the coming days.”
He continued his speech by saying: “I received many offers during the past years from the Egyptian Premier League, but it was not successful and the most prominent clubs Al -Ahly, Zamalek, Alexandria and the Egyptian Port Said.”
Al -Ahly’s board of directors, headed by Mahmoud Al -Khatib, is still searching for a new foreign technical director to take over the technical leadership of the team, after the departure of Swiss Marcel Koler due to the departure of the African Champions League.
Al -Ahly did not reach an agreement with Mark Rose
Several sources within Al -Ahly club confirmed that negotiations with Marco Rosa to train the team were not successful due to the material demands of the German coach, as well as his refusal to have any Egyptian members within the technical staff.
Al -Ahly’s technical leadership is currently taking place temporarily and will be present in the new foreign technical staff.
