The delegation of the Parliamentary Division of the Kingdom of Bahrain, headed by Representative Ahmed Abdel Wahid Qaraqat, the second deputy head of the House of Representatives – the head of the participating delegation – participated in the coordination consultative meeting of the councils and parliaments of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in the sisterly People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

During the meeting, which was held today (Thursday) on the sidelines of the thirty -eighth conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, and the accompanying meetings, it was discussed on the topics raised on the Executive Committee of the Union of the Arab Parliament and its permanent committees, where it was agreed on the importance of intensifying work and taking development paths in order to develop the role of joint Arab parliamentary efforts, and the development of Arab parliamentary diplomacy with regional and international organizations and federations.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that parliamentary consultation and coordination between the Gulf states represents a reflection of the strength of ties and the durability of relations between siblings, and is an important step to consolidate the edifice of joint cooperation, which is characterized by leadership and renewal, and reflects a continuous keenness to achieve good development aspirations, by highlighting the strength of ties between brothers and strategic partners in the interest of Arab countries and peoples.

This Gulf consultative meeting comes based on the decision taken by the Excellencies and Excellency the heads of the Shura, Representatives, National and Nation councils in the Gulf states in their eighteenth meeting, which was held in the Emirati capital (Abu Dhabi), where a work mechanism was directed to hold a coordination meetings on the sidelines of regional and international parliamentary forums, with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of the Gulf legislative councils in these forums, and activating parliamentary diplomacy For legislative councils, exchange views and formulate unified positions, and finding the necessary support on issues of common concern.
