Headphones and earphones have become an integral part of daily life, but the irresponsible use of it and the sin may threaten hearing permanently.
In a special interview with Gazeta.ru, Dr. Svetlana Nuznitskaya (ENT) warned of unexpected risks to using headphones in certain circumstances, noting that the most dangerous situations for use are when exercising, swimming or bathing.
She added: “Global research has shown that the use of headphones increases bacteria inside the ear canal 11 times. We all have bacteria in our ears, and in most cases these bacteria do not cause any health problems, however if a new bacterium enters or enters the ear, for example when giving an ear headphone to listen to music together, this may lead to the development of infections inside the ear … Repeated use or long periods of ear headphones may eventually damage the safety of the skin, and causes external auditory canal. “
Nuznitskaya pointed out that headphones or ear absorbs heat and humidity, which makes it an ideal environment for the growth of all types of bacteria or fungi, and this may contribute to the transmission of bacteria or fungi to the ear causing a serious infection.
The doctor advised people who use earphones frequently to clean the headphones and sterilize them with medical alcohol at least once a week, and to be keen to clean them from the wax of ear on it constantly.
