Abdel -Hakim said during televised statements that Gamal Abdel Nasser rebuilt the armed forces again after the 1967 setback, and regained the confidence of the people, and it was the popular will that brought him back to the rule despite his declaration of step down, noting that the Egyptian people are the one who adhered to their existence as a national leader.
He added that the United States of America intervened to a ceasefire in the war of attrition, due to the extent of the heavy losses incurred by the Israeli army, especially after Abdel Nasser succeeded in accepting the Rogers initiative to build the missile wall, which was an important step in re -balance.
Abdel -Hakim Abdel Nasser touched on his father’s relationship with the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, saying: Abdel Nasser was dealing with Gaddafi as if he were his son, and they were gathered by a strong personal and political relationship, and the leakage of the phone call between them hunting in troubled water, and my father was not Antar.
